<--Weekend in Acapulco

Alexandria, her friends and I drove down to Acapulco last weekend. The highway to Acapulco was brutal and filled with tolls but the Mexican countryside made up for it, as it was beautiful. Our house, or villa as some might call it :), was in the Mayan Resort and it was exceptional. It was more than equipped, with 3 bathrooms, a Jacuzzi, a fully functional kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a pool. After seeing the resort and house, I wished the team could get to experience the happiness I felt, but I know we will be having an awesome trip together at the World Cup in Orlando. Not sooner arrived at the villa that we were in the pool and drinking. The next morning, we had breakfast at the country club, I love the exchange rate as food even in one of the most prestigious resorts in Mexico was under 7 dollars tip and tax included. We spent the rest of the day soaking up the sun, ordering Daiquiri’s from the snack bar and food from the local restaurants. At nightfall, we went to see the famous cliff divers, it made me rethink of my sport as paintball is nowhere near as dangerous and I can't even start to imagine the commitment they must have to throw themselves off a 35 meter drop. After the show, we had supper at Senor Frogs, a Mexican theme chain restaurant; we were seated on the balcony overlooking the Bay and the city and were lucky enough to catch a short fireworks display. Sunday morning, we woke up to our maid (yes, we even had a maid cause we are just that pimp) cooking us a traditional Mexican breakfast. The rest of the day was spent lounging in the sun, reading magazines and philosophizing about how we could permanently live in this paradise forever. It definitely beats the winter blues!
